"We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times." --George Washington, letter to Philip Schuyler, 1777

| Agenda | |
 | Sponsor legislation such as that proposed by Rep. Kolkhorst (HB 2746) to establish a School of Ethics, Western Civilization, and American Traditions at The University of Texas at Austin and propose legislation to teach the founding of America, the Constitution, and Civics throughout grade school and High School. It is not enough for the home schooled to be taught the true history and birthright of our American culture.
I will specifically work to remove the Federal Government and the progressive curriculum and textbooks from Texas schools. I believe that the current state of our Union is the direct result of Federal, union, and progressive interference and assimiliation of our schools. I will also work for a Texas Student's Bill of Rights. There is no reason that a DUI suspect has more rights than our children have in our public schools.
|

 | Propose strong State enforcement regarding the removal of "bad" doctors. Texas has already led the nation with its medical tort reform. We now must address the next cost driver of medical malpractice insurance by removing grossly negligent doctors and repeat offenders.
Propose legislation to allow for the purchase of out-of-State medical insurance. Texas doesn't need the Federal Government to enact a reform that we are capable of dealing with on our own - just like tort reform. |
 | I will investigate ways to relieve the burdens of property owners and small business for financing State Government and education. I will investigate tax reform that would lessen the load on the few to support State infrastructure and programs. I support reform whereas every Texan has some skin in the game. Only when all feel the weight can they then judge the need. I favor a Consumption Tax as opposed to Property Tax. |
 | Support more robust gun rights such as the Montana intra-state gun legislation removing federal regulations and oversight from the manufacture and sale of Texas firearms, propose "carry-to-work" legislation allowing CHL holders to carry their firearms to and from work, and an "open-carry" law allowing State license holders to openly carry their firearms. |

"As a voter in 129, I would like to thank the Clear Lake Republicans for holding this forum. And I suspect that Mrs. Huls would like to thank you as well because it convinced this longtime Davis voter to switch and vote for her....This is not a protest vote on my part, it will be a positive vote for someone that earned it. Mary,
I want you to know I'm very proud to endorse you for the Texas House District 129. We need people like you that simply want the best for Texas and Texans. One of the many things that has made your campaign attractive is your position on state's rights. Some feel that this is a fight that should take place on the federal level, but the U.S. House and Senate will never relinquish their hold on the states voluntarily. We must have lawmakers on the state level willing to take the fight to the courts. Thanks for your willingness to serve District 129!
Karl Bauch
Chairman, Precinct 0744
