"We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times." --George Washington, letter to Philip Schuyler, 1777

 Platform
First, I will work for sensible legislation that conforms to the laws and intent of the Texas Constitution and the Constitution of the United States of America. I will work tirelessly to pass laws and resolutions that return States rights to Texas and vigorously oppose those that advance the progressive agenda. I will back a Texas State Sovereignty Caucus dedicated to reviewing the constitutionality of Federal legislation and sponsoring Texas legislation resulting in nullification for those Federal mandates that do not pass the constitutional muster.  It is imperative that the 50 states reassert the 10th Amendment to the Constitution, and retain the rights not given to Federal Goverment in Article 1, Section 8.
Second, I will work with Representatives in other states to plan and execute State strategies to rein in the Federal Government. I have already joined a grassroots organization that seeks to bring state legislators together to plan and form strategies to restore the States to their constitutional duties and authority. I will work to not only declare our state sovereignty, but to work towards repealing the 17th Amendment to bring state representation back to the Federal Government.  As a sovereign state, Texas will have a voice in Congress.
Third, I will specifically work to remove the Federal Government and the progressive curriculum and textbooks from Texas schools. I believe that the current state of our Union is the direct result of Federal, union, and progressive interference and assimiliation of our schools. I will also work for a Texas Student's Bill of Rights. There is no reason that a DUI suspect has more rights than our children have in our public schools.
Fourth, I will challenge the progressives in the State House, on the airwaves, in newsprint, and in the streets. I will name names and call out any hidden agendas, back room deals, and unsound legislation that I see. I intend to be an advocate of open government who will call it as I see it.
Finally, I will remain loyal and in touch with the grassroots movement that has inspired me, educated me, and provided me with the strength and courage as a common Texan and an ordinary woman to challenge the status quo to become a true citizen legislator.

"As a voter in 129, I would like to thank the Clear Lake Republicans for holding this forum. And I suspect that Mrs. Huls would like to thank you as well because it convinced this longtime Davis voter to switch and vote for her....This is not a protest vote on my part, it will be a positive vote for someone that earned it. Mary,
I want you to know I'm very proud to endorse you for the Texas House District 129. We need people like you that simply want the best for Texas and Texans. One of the many things that has made your campaign attractive is your position on state's rights. Some feel that this is a fight that should take place on the federal level, but the U.S. House and Senate will never relinquish their hold on the states voluntarily. We must have lawmakers on the state level willing to take the fight to the courts. Thanks for your willingness to serve District 129!

Karl Bauch
Chairman, Precinct 0744
